I'd begun giving the album to friends before it was nominated for a 2022 Grammy in the category of best Latin jazz album, and to say that I love Elias' playing and singing at the keyboard is to say everything and not nearly enough. I've heard her at Birdland a number of times and follow her recordings as if my life depended on them. Don't get me going about her Light My Fire and Music from Man of La Mancha CDs or the tribute to Bill Evans, Something for You, or her knowledge of the music's history. To anyone who prizes dazzling technique, international rhythms, a simply lovely tone, and a flair for collaboration, this album won't disappoint. More, it features contemporary great Chick Corea and the incomparable Chucho Valdes, whose duets with Elias, especially Corazon Partio and Esta Tarde Vi Llover, by themselves are worth the price of admission. What an album.
